Results for Lawless Creek November 13th, 2022

The CVOTC event calendar finished the year with a long-awaited return to Lawless Creek, VA.  While some club members remember the fine terrain from years ago, Lawless Creek provided an exciting new venue for many of the members.  In total, 37 riders tested their skills at “The Lawless.”

 Trialsmasters Berndie and Bryce Lundsford provided a thorough range of skill challenges across the eight, each quite different, sections in a well-marked and spaced loop.  Twisty turns in off camber situations, canyon rides over slick shifting rocks leading to stairsteps of alternating rock and slippery hill-face climbs, suspended logs over mucky rocks, tight angled log crossings – just a few of the ways that line selection, timing, control, and technique were thoughtfully and thoroughly tested in the well-planned sections. 

 A large roaring fire pit provided comfort for the cool fall morning start and several practice sections had been prepared as well.  A couple of new ideas were tested at the event; an “Ask the Expert” for riders to seek advice on anything Trials related and a Skills Challenge competition after the event to promote learning and rider interaction – we’ll be seeking your feedback on these on the Facebook page to help shape next year’s events.
