If you're a trials rider, you dream of a day like today. Thirty riders. Thirty smiling faces. Sunshine with just a little nip in the air—chilly, but charming. Lawless Creek is notorious for its "liquid sunshine," so today's dry skies felt almost suspicious… like the weather gods forgot to check the location before dishing out perfection.
But we didn’t ask questions. We just rode.
Hosted on Berndie Lunsford’s epic 200-acre wonderland in Blairs, VA, today’s event delivered the full trials experience: giant logs, gnarly rocks, tricky off-cambers, mossy creek beds, sketchy drop-offs, grippy climbs—basically, a buffet of everything we love and fear. It was the kind of day that had riders grinning ear to ear… except maybe when they were upside down in a creek bed.
The Lawless Creek property, under the wickedly creative direction of section wizard David Webster, turned into a two-wheeled playground that kept everyone on their toes—and their footpegs. Great traction in most sections gave folks the confidence to push the limits, while the natural terrain offered just enough slipperiness to keep things spicy.
There was something for everyone—unless you’re Kim Fuelling, who apparently decided to skip the challenge part altogether and cleaned the entire day. Yes, Kim is now officially banned from making it look that easy. Seriously. Leave some cleans for the rest of us, Kim.
A huge thank you to Berndie for opening up his slice of trials heaven and for the many hours he put in clearing and grooming the sections, and to David for the countless hours spent crafting such a phenomenal ride. Between the gorgeous property, the dialed-in sections, and the perfect weather, it's safe to say this was one for the books.
